Our Principles: People and Planet First
Our Commitment to People and Planet
At EcoVision, we’re proud to be a not-for-profit cooperative putting communities and the planet first. Our mission is to make energy upgrades accessible, affordable, and sustainable for all—particularly those most in need. As part of our commitment, we adhere to the values of the People and Planet First initiative.
Democratic Ownership and Control
EcoVision is a community-led cooperative (CLG) governed by a voluntary board. Members have an equal voice in decision-making, ensuring democratic control and transparency at every level.
Our Social and Environmental Mission
Our work is rooted in the goal of reducing energy poverty and carbon emissions through home and community energy upgrades. We deliver impactful projects under national schemes like the SEAI Community Energy Grant and the Just Transition Fund – designed for real, long-term benefits.
Reinvesting for Impact
As a not-for-profit, any surpluses we generate are reinvested directly into expanding our services, supporting our community funds, and innovating for a fairer energy future. We do not distribute profits to private owners.
Our Community Fund is used by our 15 member communities to finance and complete energy or environment projects in their locality.
Fairness in the Workplace
We are committed to fair employment practices. Our team is paid a living wage or above, and we foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and purpose. We also work closely with local contractors and suppliers, ensuring fairness across our value chain.
Environmental Responsibility EcoVision champions renewable energy and energy efficiency. Our work contributes to Ireland’s climate goals, with real-world impact including reduced carbon emissions and increased energy savings for households and community buildings. The materials used in energy upgrades are those approved by SEAI.

Community First
Our services are designed around the needs of our local communities. We support vulnerable and rural households, offer mentoring to other energy communities, and reinvest in local energy initiatives. We actively collaborate with local authorities, charities, and voluntary groups.
